Rosie has really been into playing with cars and trucks lately. We placed a road rug in front of her doll house and she loves driving the cars around in their pretend town. Remembering our construction site small world from last year I thought now would be a great time to repurpose those materials and create a construction site in the bath with cars, trucks, and lots of other fun and imaginative elements.
Construction Activities in the Bath
This bath was tons of fun! I colored the water orange using food coloring. All the other materials were items we had on hand from previous play times or in our toy box.
Items we used for our Construction Play:
- Hard hat (purchased from The Dollar Tree)
- Dirt dough- 100% tub safe sensory material
- Protective eye wear pulled from our dress ups (can be found at The Dollar Tree)
- Cars and trucks
- Rocks (purchased from The Dollar Tree)
- Caution Tape left over from our previous construction small world (Hard ware store)
This construction site really captivated Rosie and brought her imagination to life!
She is really into dressing up right now and loved wearing the hat and goggles, at least at first
The dirt and rocks really inspired her construction play!
She loved having the vehicles haul loads of rock around the tub road way
She also loved exploring with all the objects in the water
Building and constructing
This was such a FUN play activity for Rosie and I love exposing her to ALL types of toys and not just what are generally referenced as traditional girl toys.
