Pool noodles are so fun! There are TONS of ways to play with them OUT of the pool, and they are so inexpensive, making them a great toy for kids! We have played with pool noodles in so many ways, and have many more pool noodle play times to come this Summer, too. Here I have collected 20 FUN ways to use these noodles, some from us as well as some great ideas from others!

Each day we will share a bath, beauty recipe, spa treatment, or some other relaxing activity perfect for mom. It is important for us to take time for ourselves after all and Mother's day is a great time to do exactly that (if any dads are reading, the things being shared this week would make perfect Mother's Day gifts or surprises- hint hint) I am kicking off this special week with one of my favorite baths- a detox bath.

I have found all sorts of fun ways to explore color theory and mixing with Rosie and Jewel. The girls especially loved kool-aid color mixing eruptions, color splashing with magic paints, and exploring color mixing in a bag. However, this next color mixing science for kids just might be the most magical way we have explored!

Basketball, Color Noodle Toss, and More!
Today we are sharing another fun game using pool noodles. For today's game, we made ball hoops using pool noodles and tape. Any strong adhesive tape will work. All you have to do is form the noodle into a circle and tape it tightly. Then use a little tape to secure your hoop to the wall.

We have shared quite a few kool-aid Science activities for kids, but today's is one of our favorites!
Color Mixing Kool-aid Science
Rosie LOVES Science, and it is no surprise as it is TONS of fun when approached in a playful way. This week we are sharing one of our favorite activities- color mixing with kool-aid eruptions. All you need for this activity is kool-aid packets in varying colors, baking soda, and vinegar.
To make our erupting color science we filled a tray with baking soda. Then we added two different kool-aid colors on top, using different colors for each concoction. Be sure to have the two colors overlap a little in the middle.
Once the baking soda and kool-aid were laid out the girls would pour vinegar onto the tray to see color mixing science right before their eyes
Red + blue mixed to make purple
I loved how the girls could see both colors separately, and also see them coming together to make the mixed color. I think this is a great way to teach the concept of color mixing to small children!
Red + Yellow mixed to make Orange
Blue + yellow mixed to make green
After we explored color mixing we made a kool-aid rainbow similar to the magic appearing rainbow we shared before.
This was the girls favorite kool-aid eruption of course!
The girls continued to mix, concoct, play and explore long after the color mixing lesson was over
Kool-aid eruptions really are a favorite here! This is a great go-to activity any day the kids are in need of some quick fun. It is frugal and kids never tire of the amazingly colorful and scented eruptions!

I transformed our bath into a bus the other day for a fun, The Wheels on the Bus themed bath. Both my girls love that song and LOVED this fun bath! Right after I had the tub transformed my camera died so I only caught a few shots. I was totally bummed but still wanted to share this fun bath activity with you and feel the couple photos I did get are enough to illustrate the idea.
